Customers and suppliers sometimes claim the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 screens are interchangeable. They are not. The difference is small but fatal: a wrong screen will not seat correctly and can damage the connector.
Physical differences
| Feature | iPhone 13 | iPhone 14 |
|---|---|---|
| Display size | 6.1 inch | 6.1 inch |
| Connector position | Right-side flex | Right-side flex, shifted ~1 mm |
| Sensor housing | TrueDepth array notch | Same notch dimensions |
| Display cable length | 92 mm | 94 mm |
| Screen thickness | ~1.15 mm | ~1.18 mm |
Why they do not swap
The connector shift is enough that an iPhone 13 screen in a 14 chassis seats at an angle. Forcing it stresses the ZIF connector and can tear the solder pads off the board. The 1 mm difference in cable length also means the flex folds incorrectly when the display is closed.
Stocking rule
Maintain separate SKUs for iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 screens. Within each family, the base and Pro models have their own assemblies too — never accept a "13/14 universal" listing. Browse the full screen range by model in our catalogue.
FAQ
Can I use a 13 Pro screen on a 14? No. Pro and base models have different connector layouts and sensor clusters.
Do screen protectors cross-fit? Generally yes — the front glass dimensions are close enough that most protectors fit both, but model-specific protectors align better.
