Step-by-step
- Power off, remove bottom pentalobes, heat the lower edge for 90 seconds
- Lift the display from the bottom and open like a book to the left; the front flexes are short
- Disconnect the battery first, then the display and sensor flexes
- Remove the metal display bracket (five screws, two lengths — lay them out)
- Peel the four adhesive pull-tabs straight out, keeping tension low and parallel to the cell
- Lift the L-shaped cell out, clean the frame with isopropyl
- Seat the new cell, press into the adhesive strips, reconnect battery and display flexes
- Power on and run Battery Health before sealing
